Adjust the look
Choose the ink colour and pen thickness. For a photo, switching on background removal gives you clean ink with no paper behind it.

Is the signature maker free?
Yes. You can make and download as many signatures as you like. There is no sign-up and no watermark.
Is my signature uploaded or stored?
No. The signature is drawn and exported in your browser. Nothing you draw, type or choose is sent to Zap Bill.
What file do I get?
A PNG cropped to your signature. By default the background is transparent, so it can sit on top of any document. You can switch to a white background if you prefer.
How do I add the signature to an invoice?
Download the PNG, then upload it as the signature in the Zap Bill invoice editor, which needs a free account. You can also place the image on a document in any editor that accepts pictures.
Can I turn a photo of my handwriting into a signature?
Yes. On the Upload tab, choose a photo of your signature on white paper. Leave background removal on and the paper is dropped, leaving only the ink.
Is a signature from this tool legally valid?
It is an image of a signature, nothing more. Whether a document needs a specific kind of signature depends on where you are and what the document is for, so check the rules that apply to you.
